Welcome to my blog

'Let's go Exploring!' by Dave Mathis

By: Dave Mathis

Welcome to my blog. My name is Corey Wallis, known as techxplorer in various places online. I am a software engineer for Moodlerooms, part of Blackboard, in Adelaide, Australia.

My predominantly involves working with Moodle, an open source online learning management system.

I do not post regularly, but when I do it is usually about my experiences with technology. If you are interested in the software that I have written, it is available on my GitHub page.

I also write about my experiences with Moodle, and occasionally on reflections I’ve had about other topics. I discontinued my photoblog late last year, so sometimes I even post photos that I’ve taken.

In April 2014 I reinvigorated my blog, deleting all previous content. If you have come to my blog following a broken link, I apologise. Deleting the old content in 2014 was a way for me to focus on the future, and not dwell on the past. I hope you’ll stay for the new content.

You will notice that comments on my blog have been deliberately disabled. Having users comment on your posts is typically part of the blogging experience. Here on my blog, they are disabled for two very important reasons:

  1. Having comments enabled on your blog is like inviting the world into your lounge room and then not liking the mess that they make
  2. I don’t have the time, or the inclination, to deal with the inevitable spam comments

If you do want to comment on something that I write, either email me or contact me via Twitter.

Lastly, many thanks for taking the time to visit, and reading the words that I write. Lets see where this journey leads.
