Sorry…couldn’t resist. On the whole, I agree with Bobby. Has been my experience of dealing with committees and I try to avoid them like the plague.
Teams, however ….teams are good. Unless the members think they have to behave like a committee…

I’ve worked in a library that was dominated by women, and unfortunately it was a rare group that could “cut the crap and ego, just get down to it and get it done”.
I don’t think this is a gender thing, it is mainly a committee thing, as you say teams are good.
However, a good team is better than a committee, a bad team can be worse than a committee. Sadly it has been too long since I’ve worked in a good team.
Small groups of 1-2 people yes, larger teams no.
