During a recent trip to the Adelaide Botanic Garden we stumbled across this statue entitled “The Amazon”.

The plaque on the plinth that the statue is on reads:
The Amazon by August K. E. Kiss (copy) presented by the citizens of Adelaide 1867
Which only leaves me with two thoughts really:
- The statue is in amazing shape for being over 100 years old
- Why would an Amazon woman go riding without a shirt?
