Putting my feeds on a diet

Ironically it was while trying to get a handle on all of my RSS feeds that I came across this post on the Libraries Interact blog by Fiona Bradley. I use Google Reader to manage all of my RSS feeds and for an exercise like this the trends feature helps a lot. At a glance I can see:
- Which feeds haven’t been updated in a while;
- The feeds I read the most; and
- The feeds I read the least.
Using this information I took a deep breath and unsubscribed from around 10 blogs this morning. My feed reader is looking a lot healthier now and more manageable. Some of the feeds I was sad to see go, but I simply couldn’t keep up with them any more.
Many thanks to Fiona for writing the post on Libraries Interact and giving me that last final push to do a clean up that’s been a bit overdue.
